In reference to the little girl who was almost taken to the coconut plantation in the film The Dark Side of Chocolate, when asked what the trafficker told you. With a perplexed look that poor girls face, she responded by saying that she had been told that she was going to make a lot of money. The impact of poverty is perhaps the main cause of child labor. Poverty is a problem that carries serious ethical implications on the freedom and will of billions of children around the world, as they are forced into the cycle of poverty. If we apply Kant's categorical imperative to the ethical problem we face today, the world would be a place that promotes the concept of will and where morality must be based on the concept of will.
