  • Essay / Argument for Human Cloning - 1882

IntroductionCloning is the process of manipulating DNA and embryonic stem cells to create an identical living organism. The goal of cloning is to find medical treatments and reduce human suffering (Rosalyn). Is this false? Is this disrespectful to nature itself? According to Sir John Gordon, cloning is not about playing God; it is simply a matter of copying “what nature has already produced” (Gordon). This new development has sparked a series of debates, because although there are technologies that allow humans to artificially create mammals, sooner or later the same process will be carried out on humans. This begs the question: should human cloning be banned? (Cloning: an overview). Even though many critics believe that human cloning violates human dignity, there should be acceptance because it can be a solution for those suffering from various illnesses, it is essential to understanding our ancestors or other prehistoric species and it benefits parents. who have lost their beloved children, or those who cannot have children.Argumentative Point 1The tension over whether or not cloning should be banned has long arisen. Since 1998, the controversy over the ban on the procedure of applying human embryonic stem cells, a method classified as therapeutic cloning, has spread throughout the world. On the other hand, cloning via reproductive cells has been considered illegal in many countries. Catholic practices assert that human cloning is disrespectful to God himself. This leads many political leaders to make stubborn decisions (Bellomo). July 5, 1996; the date a sheep named Dolly was successfully cloned from an adult sheep gene.
