  • Essay / Foundations of Biblical Justice and Law - 1456

In life, people are aware of many perspectives on justice and law. Often people think about similarities and differences without really knowing how they work. What becomes debatable is whether justice is law or whether law is justice. Next, I will try to indicate as clearly as possible the different visions of justice and law from a biblical point of view and from the ideal of man. Theological DefinitionJusticeJustice has various forms within the Bible and in our society. Its most fundamental meaning is to treat humanity with love, respect and fairness. Consider biblical justice; it embraces individuals, communities, and the cosmos as a whole, upholding both goodness and fairness. It is at the center of true religion. In one sentence: In James 1:27 (New International Version), James states that the kind of "religion that God our Father accepts as pure and blameless is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to guard against 'to be polluted by the world. According to Metzger (2010), “earlier scriptures say, ‘The righteous care for justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern’” (Prov. 29:7). It also means that the treatment of others will not go unpunished, regardless of race and/or class. If you commit the crime or something wrong, then your mishaps will be punished in the same way or treated in the same way. It is important to remember this, especially when writers or readers introduce righteousness from the Bible and refer to our God as "a father to the orphans, a defender of widows" (Psalm 68:4-5). , New International Version).Biblical FoundationThe foundation of righteousness begins with the love of God as explained and taught from our Bible notes or our reading of the Bible.
