Essay / The Importance of Good Leadership Skills - 1145
Assuming my organization is successful, I believe I am well positioned to maintain that success over time. As a progressive, one of my core beliefs is that there is always something else to work on. This means that my organization will always have future goals and hopefully future successes as well. In order to continue to be successful, I would rely on the first principle of vision and use my communication skills which I believe are good enough to convince people. Additionally, I would look to the structure in place to ensure that progress never stalls. People in my organization should feel like they are allowed to express their opinions, even if they may be contrary to what I believe. Living in an echo chamber is the surest way to fail. By creating an environment where everyone feels like their contributions matter and their opinions are considered, we will be able to find solutions to problems in areas that I might not have considered before. Diversity of ideas and beliefs drives success, and having a vision for the future requires doing more than maintaining the status quo. While I cannot guarantee that this would equate to a successful organization – as there are many uncontrollable factors – I believe it would give me the best chance of success.
