Essay / The Web Browser - 1546
What would a computer look like if the Web browser had never been created? What would the Internet look like? What good would the Internet be without a way to browse it? The first web browser was developed by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991. It was called WorldWideWeb. The second browser was developed by Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina in 1993. This browser was called NCSA Mosaic and featured integrated graphics, something browsers did not have at the time and which had an effect on all browsers who followed him. wasn't a web browser, then the internet would be incredibly different. I use the Internet every day. Many people are unfortunately addicted to the Internet. People addicted to the Internet sometimes kill and steal to get money to pay for Internet or subscriptions to play games. I remember many stories of people who died because they didn't eat, drink or sleep to play a game non-stop during a marathon or beat it in the fastest time. How people can be so addicted to the internet or games is beyond me. The most popular web browser then was Internet Explorer, but its popularity is declining and the two most used browsers other than IE are now Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. There are others that are good browsers, like Opera, but they just aren't that well known. I don't like IE and still use Chrome nowadays. However, my father still supports Internet Explorer. Andreessen was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, but grew up in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, a small town of about 1,500 people at the time. His father was a seed seller and is now retired. Marc's mother still works for the Lands End clothing catalog. His main interest was computers. He started in 5th grade when he read a book on basic programming in the middle of paper......
