    In American history, Black Americans have suffered more disadvantage than any other race. At the time when slavery was acceptable to society, black Americans had the worst situation. Black Americans have no dignity or rights over their lives. Prejudice and discrimination against Black Americans was intense and police and white Americans were on the same side in suppressing the freedom and human rights of Black Americans. These extreme circumstances left black Americans with only two choices: be oppressed for the rest of their lives or stand up and fight for freedom, equality, and human rights. Throughout the years of the black liberation movement, many influential and successful black leaders rose from the struggle and helped rebuild the confidence of the oppressed.
