Along with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones are one of the most famous English rock groups to have influenced America. Introducing teenagers to African-American urban blues and transforming urban blues into something like supercharged rock and roll were just a few of the things the Stones brought to America (Kallen 10-11). The band's original lineup included: Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Brian Jones, Mick Jagger and Ian Stewart (Kallen 8-9). They've come a long way to get to where they are today, and to this day, they still play their music across the world. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band that has existed since the early 1960s. The group was brought together by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. Richards and Jagger were friends throughout their childhood until their families eventually grew apart. They then separated until 1960, when they met again at a train station in England. A month after their renewal, they started the group (Kallen17). While Richards and Jagger were starting their band, Brian Jones was moving up the music chain. He played with a band called Blues Incorporated, they often played together at a jazz club in London (Kallen17). Eventually, Jones decided he was ready to start his own band and he placed an ad in the newspaper saying he was looking for bandmates (Kallen18). Ian Stewart was the first to respond to his ad, shortly after Richards and Jagger showed up for auditions. It was the official debut of the group. They continued to play shows without an official name, until they finally decided to name themselves "Rollin' Stones" after a Muddy Water song. Muddy Water's was where the Stones... middle of paper ... he was just a temporary replacement. But ultimately, Wood just became a member of the Rolling Stones. He fits perfectly into the group. His roots and origins were the same as theirs and not to mention he looked like Keith Richards. His first full-length album to which he contributed was "Black and Blue", released in 1976 (The Rolling Stones Biography). Ronnie Wood was the latest addition to the group. This creates today's final line-up of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts. The Rolling Stones influenced America so much. They brought together many types of music genres and completely showed us a new side of rock and roll. Even today, they travel the world to play their music in front of many people. Even after fifty years they just don't want to give up, they have established one of the biggest fan bases..
