    The Operations Management of Baruch CollegeIntroductionBaruch College has been an important fixture in the Murray Hill and Tribeca area of ​​Manhattan for over a century. Founded in 1919 by Bernard M. Baruch, the college has provided a steady influx of cash to local businesses for more than a century, through its students' patronage and requests for services. This article will focus on the management of Baruch College's operations, how the college affects its community, and how the community affects the college. There is a correlation between Baruch's operations and the local economy which can be likened to a circle. In fact, just as Baruch's presence affects the Murray Hill area, the community also harmoniously affects the college. For example, the lack of formal dining and healthy food options leads students and faculty to take advantage of nearby establishments. Baruch is often referred to as a "commuter school" for several reasons, one being due to the college's urban location. , just steps from Union Square and connected to most subway lines. The absence of the traditional American college campus does not encourage students to linger and socialize as is often seen at closed institutions. As a result, students and faculty are more likely to come to school and limit themselves to academics, then return home.
