Euthanasia, the painless death of a human suffering from an incurable or painful illness, is an issue that raises multiple levels of controversy between different faiths (Incrediblereporter. 2007) . Both Christian and Orthodox faiths share the same view, as they both believe that euthanasia is contrary to their core beliefs and sacred texts and writings. These churches believe that this killing is against the word and will of God, because it weakens society's respect for life (BBC. 2014). They believe that every human being is God’s creation and that imposes certain limitations (Clarke. 2013). These views can be illustrated in scared texts and writings. “Thou shalt not kill,” written in the Ten Commandments, has been the strongest source of proof for believers. Further evidence has also been found in the Bible, as numerous passages prove that assisted dying is contrary to Christian morality and the omniscience of God.
