    Contrary to popular opinion, illegal immigrants do not contribute to the American economy. Instead, they cost more by using government-provided services, taking away jobs from indigenous workers, and reducing wages by competing with indigenous workers. Proudly a nation of immigrants, the United States attracts people from around the world because we are a nation of laws. (Demint) For centuries, immigration has been essential to the health of our nation, as it will be to the future success of our nation. (Demint) While this is true, immigrants should still come to our country legally and not further burden our loyal and already overburdened taxpayers with tax costs. (Demint) Foreign-born individuals residing in the United States at the time of a demographic survey who were not U.S. citizens at birth in 2012 were 4.2% born in Africa, 29.2% born in Asia, 11.8% born in Europe, 52.2%. % born in Latin America, including South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, 2.0% born in North America, including Canada, Bermuda, Greenland, St. Peter and Miquelon. (Migration) The top three countries where illegal immigrants are believed to have originally originated are Mexico, India, and China. (Migration) With illegal immigration becoming more and more common over the years, you can only imagine how much these numbers have increased. The presence of illegal immigrants in the United States and how to deal with productive immigrants and those who conflict with government tariffs can cause much controversy over whether these immigrants harm or help our economy. If no one allowed wages to be low, employers would be forced to raise the minimum wage to recruit workers, thereby benefiting those who would willingly take the jobs. (Ambrosek) As long as immigrants continue to work in demanding jobs and do not complain or take a stand on low wages, the situation will remain the same. Given the number of illegal immigrants arriving in our country, we can conclude that there are not enough jobs to go around.
