    Corporate Social Responsibility TJ MaxxThe company I chose to explore is TJ Maxx. I chose TJ Maxx because it's one of my favorite stores where I can find name brand products at an affordable price. TJX Companies, Inc. has been in the business industry for 36 years. TJ Maxx began in 1919 when brothers Max and Morris Feldberg founded the New England Trading Company in Boston, Massachusetts, and opened the first retail store in 1929, dedicated to selling women's hosiery. Two decades later, that store grew into an entire chain of women's clothing stores that stretched from New England to Washington, DC. In the mid-1970s, TJ Maxx was born and grew into what is known today as TJX Companies, Inc., which is the leading discount clothing and home wear retailer in the United States and in the world. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is how a company balances its economic, social and environmental responsibilities in its operations to meet the needs of shareholders and other stakeholder expectations. In general, when companies play this broader role of encouraging the public by engaging with stakeholders, various benefits can be generated for both the company and the stakeholders. A key trend is the blending of corporate social responsibility (CSR) into organizational strategy, culture, mission and communications. By embedding corporate citizenship into the business, it is no longer just another “nice thing to do” or something designed to obey laws or regulations. Instead, corporate responsibility has become something that business leaders and their employees want to engage in, often because leaders who believe in the long term see the profit in their companies.
