Finally, at the end of Deuteronomy, we learn of the death of Moses.1 KingsThe book of 1 Kings is considered a historical account. Some of the key themes and purposes identified in 1 Kings concerned how David's fourth son tried to establish himself as king. The prophet Nathan warned Bathshelba who eventually told David of this news. David chose Solomon to become king over his fourth son. After Solomon was made king, he received understanding and wisdom from God and with this he built the temple and the palace. Once the temple was completed, the Ark was brought to the temple and Solomon dedicated the Ark with many prayers and offerings. God had given Solomon very strict warnings: if his sons turned away from him, there would be consequences. After the days of Solomon...... middle of paper ......e of Judah and Jerusalem, the judgment of God is upon them. He mentions how he sang the song mentioning the vineyard. God tells Isaiah to speak to his people and how he records his warnings when people do not follow God's laws and are ultimately led to sin. In Isaiah, the coming of the Messiah is prophesied. It also recounts the prediction of Jerusalem's deliverance and how King Hezekiah prayed for it to happen. It tells how Isaiah told the Jews that they were God's chosen people and how, after the deliverance from Babylon, they would rebuild their nation Israel. This book is considered a reminder that God is our one and only and that we will have no other idol that we worship. Works Cited Holy Bible. (1997). Wheaton: Tyndall. Fee, D.G. and Stuart, D. (2003).
