    He disapproved of the use of black slaves because he believed it was immoral to exploit people based on their appearance. Blake was an advanced, modern thinker who did not accept the typical Christian view. When we delve deeper into the poem, we realize that it also depicts colonialism. Blake wrote this poem at a time when slavery persisted in London and many black people worked for English aristocratic families. It would not be wrong to say that the boy and his mother were also taken from the "wild south", probably Africa, to England and the whole poem revolves around their life in England. Blake's motivation for writing this poem was to make people aware that they should condemn such activities. He wanted to eliminate the mental block that persisted among the people of the
