Essay / Physical Education: The Most Underrated Class Ever?
Most underrated class ever? Physical education is essential in a student's daily schedule. Physical education is not only physically necessary for adolescents and children, but it also makes students more successful academically. The more they are forced to sit in a chair and learn all day, the more their learning rate decreases. Research has shown that physical education is essential for keeping students healthy and giving them a mental break throughout the day. Physical education can benefit children in many ways and they are all important in a student's daily life. The first reason it helps students is because it is proven to help students perform better in their core courses. Additionally, it keeps them physically fit and at a healthy weight. Our final reason is that it helps relieve stress and distract students from their problems. For years, schools have been trying to eliminate gym classes and no longer make them mandatory. A school's main priority is student success in the classroom, and physical education is proven to contribute to this. Many studies have been done to prove this to be true. For example, a study by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education determined whether education correlated with maintaining good physical condition. Researchers tested many different physical characteristics such as aerobic capacity, body composition, flexibility and others. The results proved that there is a direct relationship between physical fitness and improved academic performance" (Studies show that physically active children perform better academically."
