I want to attend undergraduate and graduate schools because my parents told me from a young age that education is the most most powerful available to a person, which provides them with unlimited opportunities throughout their life. My academic goal is to obtain a doctorate in medicine, and then I will continue after graduate school with this degree and specialize in the field of immunology. I feel that with this education, I will truly have the ability to help people; my cousins and people around the world. I would love to be able to show my cousins that girls can be just as smart as the rest and that if they persevere and have the motivation to go to school, they will be successful and successful. I think seeing me graduate from college will help them realize that the feat is possible, if they try to believe they can do it. Additionally, biology is a field filled with cutting-edge research, but, more importantly, it has the potential to have a useful impact on humanity. One of the greatest threats facing the world today is disease. By studying biology at university, then specializing in it and obtaining a doctorate in medicine, I will strengthen my understanding of the human body, how it functions and fights disease and, therefore, how to help improve its performance. My uncle was an accomplished doctor and always told me stories about the people he helped, what we called “hospital stories.” I loved my uncle and, thanks to his stories, I wanted to become a doctor like him. He helped my grandmother when she broke her hip; shortly after his help, she was able to walk again. My uncle, quite devastatingly, passed away last year, on July 24, 2014, after being in a coma for two years. His life was taken by sickle cell anemia, a disease that has tormented my family for years. Another uncle of mine continues to suffer from it, and I have, by proxy,
