    The term personality is derived from the Latin word persona, meaning mask. Personality is the public image of oneself. It is the attribute that is visible to the world. This aspect of personality implies that an individual's vital attributes remain hidden for various reasons. Personality allows a person to be socially viable, meaning that an individual can possess a very good personality, a bad personality, or no personality at all. Thus, several definitions of personality exist. There is no perfect way to define personality. Personality as a whole is related to the differences that exist within individuals, which may relate to behavior, thought patterns, and emotional outbursts. There are various theories presented by theorists which are based on their own studies and projections. Personality is a dynamic organization within the person of psychophysical systems that create the person's characteristic patterns of behavior, thoughts, and feelings (GW Allport, 1961). The way a person thinks, behaves and acts can be defined as personality. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: The first study involves understanding individual differences in particular personality characteristics, which may be sociability or irritability. The second study consists of understanding how the different attributes of an individual fit together to form a whole. The internal process that guides behavior is personality. Gordon Allport (1961) emphasizes that personality is psychophysical, that is, both physical and psychological. Biological and genetic phenomena are involved in impacting personality. Child (1968) emphasizes that personality is stable – or at least relatively stable.
