  • Essay / Circulatory System - 420

Circulatory SystemThe circulatory system is a transportation and cooling system for the body. Red blood cells act like billions of little factors carrying all sorts of things that cells need. Red blood cells also carry oxygen and nutrients to cells. All cells in the body need oxygen to stay alive. There is also another type of cell called white blood cells that move around the system. Why blood cells protect against bacteria and other harmful elements. The circulatory system contains venous arteries, veins are used to carry blood to the heart and arteries to carry blood away. The blood in the veins is where most of the oxygen and nutrients are found and is called deoxygenated and the color of the blood is dark red. However, the blood in the arteries is also full of oxygen but is bright red in color. The main components of the circulatory system are the heart, blood and blood vessels. The Heart The heart is two-sided and has four chambers and is mainly made up of muscles. The muscles of the heart are different from other muscles in the body because they cannot fatigue, so they are always expanding and contacting. The heart usually beats between 60 and 100 beats per minute. In the right side of the heart, the pressure is low and its role is to send red blood cells. Blood enters the right heart through a chamber called the right atrium. Right atrium is another word for entry hall. Since the atrium is located above the right ventricle, a mixture of gravity and compression pushes the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle. The tricuspid is made up of three parts that allow blood to flow up and down the heart but closes to prevent blood from flowing backward into the right atrium. The aorta and the arterial system The arteries that bring blood to the head are located in what is called the aortic arch. Once the blood has passed through the arch of the foot, it is distributed throughout the rest of the body. From the aorta, blood is sent to other arteries, where it delivers oxygen to every cell..
