    Keeping blood sugar levels under control is crucial for diabetics and those who are insulin dependent will often need to test their blood sugar levels four times a day. As of now, there is no cure for diabetes, but with modern technology, monitoring diabetes is as easy as turning on a computer. Traditional testing methods include using a lancet to draw blood from your finger, applying the blood to a strip for testing. and insert the strip into a meter which will determine the blood sugar level. These handheld glucometers come in a variety of styles ranging from one screen to display the result to one that will express the results. Handheld glucose meters require coding or calibration for each new set of test strips. There are two ways to calibrate a portable meter: either by manually entering the code into a meter or by using a code chip. The code chip simplifies the use of a handheld device because there is no need to manually code with each new box of test strips. After the test, most diabetics should record their results in a diary of some kind to record them.....
