    After the meeting was over, people stayed and talked and it seemed like people seemed happier after the meeting. As I was leaving the meeting, I noticed that there was a box that had the words "Cash Donations" on it, so I reached into my purse and put $5.00 in the box. box. It made me feel good to know that the donations go directly to the needs of the group. I also noticed some pamphlets sitting on a table, so I picked up one titled "This is AA, An Introduction to the AA Recovery Program." After leaving the meeting, I realized that the path to sobriety is not easy and requires a lot of hard work and honesty. When an alcoholic realizes and admits that he has a problem, he realizes that his lifestyle will change. However, some may not realize how much these impacts will affect them until they own up to their actions. Over time, a person will realize that their life of alcohol addiction has also had an impact on their family. Getting sober can take a toll physically and emotionally because the daily ritual of drinking is gone and the individual must adjust to a life without alcohol. It is important for an individual to recognize and rely on a spiritual connection. When an individual follows the twelve-step program, it allows them to see the impact of alcohol on their life and take responsibility for their negative behavior.
