Animal Abuse You turn on the television to watch the news and hear about a teenage girl throwing newborn puppies into a river. You think in your mind how sad and cruel this is and you hope that she will never be allowed to own pets again in her life. But you don't really think about it as you go about your day. Don't you know that people who abuse animals are only allowed to own a pet for 5 years. 95% of people don't want to see animal abuse and wouldn't want the abuser to have another pet again. In my opinion, animal abuse is a big mistake, because animals cannot speak for themselves; people need to know that animal abuse is cruel and unjust. There are two different types of animal abuse: intentional and unintentional. Intentional animal abuse is the worst type of animal abuse because you intentionally harm animals. Abusers hurt animals because they enjoy doing it. People who intentionally harm animals usually suffer from psychological disorders or emotional problems. One of the warning signs of some psychopathologies is a history of torture of pets and small animals, known as zoosadism. Two high school students who shot 12 classmates, then told their classmates about animal mutilation themselves. Animal cruelty can be deliberate or simply failing to care for your pet, which brings us to the next type of animal abuse: unintentional. Unintentional animal abuse hurts animals because the abuser doesn't realize what they're doing is wrong. In recent years, the line between kindness and cruelty toward animals has shifted, but some people haven't even noticed. We try to make our dogs cuter by tail docking, ear docking, and debarking, but it's actually very painful and traumatic for dogs who experience these things. ...... middle of paper ...... an animal shelter to help take in stray dogs and cats. You could even be part of the Humane Society that saves animals from abuse or abusive homes. Let's say you know someone who is very aggressive towards their pet and you know that this poor animal is being abused at home, report it. Don't let animal abuse happen, report it if you witness it or know someone is mistreating their pet. It's not fair to let an animal suffer just because you're too selfish to do nothing. Now that I've told you how cruel, unfair and wrong animal abuse is, maybe you can help stop it. No animal deserves to be mistreated or abused in any way. Animal abuse is wrong and abusers should know it.
