Statement of Purpose “The best way to predict the future is to create it” - Peter Drucker. I firmly believe in this statement that acting now can help you shape the life you want to live. I firmly believe that you can determine your own destiny if you create your own future. After considering my interests, past education, and ultimate ambition, I realized that a master's degree in business and information systems would help me achieve my future career goal in information systems. My inclination is more specifically towards Business Analytics and data science. I consider a master's program in the United States as a crucial step towards achieving my career goal because not only is it the birthplace of my chosen field of study, but it also nourished for its full growth and continued development. For my undergraduate studies, I opted for “Information Technology” at SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce. During the study, I understood the fundamentals of computer science through programming language and database courses. After my undergraduate studies, the strong desire to understand the global business management process and industry requirements pushed me to pursue a postgraduate diploma in management specializing in “international business” at the Pillai Institute of Management and Research. I was equipped with topics such as Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationship Management, Shipping and Logistics Management, International Business Operations and MIS for Global Organizations. At the end of the first year, a study trip to China provided an international perspective on business by exposing them to the different factors that businesses face in their particular environment. Through the BIS program, I aim to sharpen my skills and provide technology-based business solutions to global organizations in India to achieve their strategic goals. The New Jersey Institute of Technology program is suitable for my goals because it offers an excellent and challenging curriculum coupled with industry exposure. I found faculties like Mr. Fadi Deek, Mr. Michael Bieber and their research quite impressive. I believe that being associated with these professors would give me an excellent opportunity to further my career in IS. I was also amazed by the Create Your Own Specialty option and the various research opportunities available at your university in this area. I look forward to joining as a graduate student in the Department of Information Systems.
