  • Essay / Why should school uniforms be compulsory in schools

School uniforms should be compulsory in schoolsFor many decades, school systems have questioned school uniforms and whether they are beneficial to students or No. The typical school uniform is most often found in private schools; however, some public school systems have switched to school uniforms. Why should all schools, public and private, adopt a uniform? School uniforms are beneficial to the student because they limit clothing distractions, promote an organized structure, decrease the need to purchase excessive amounts of street clothing, and will eliminate school dress code controversy. The first school uniforms were actually used in 16th century England in charity schools for poverty-stricken children. Schools that do not have uniforms most often have a set school dress code. The problem with school dress codes is that there is much controversy over the interpretation of the dress code. Everyone tends to interpret the rules of a dress code differently, making it quite difficult to enforce the policy uniformly among students. The hardest part of the school dress code is that in most cases the policy is not enforced consistently and changes depending on who the person is, their body type, and whether or not they are attractive. A school uniform reinforces the conformity of each student, so that no one stands out from the rest. The school uniform ensures that everyone follows the policy and there is no "body shaming" for students who may not be as popular, fit or attractive as people who are. Opponents of the uniform often think that there is only one place and only one. way to purchase specific school uniforms for their children, leading them to believe that school uniform is quite expensive and difficult to convert. There are critics who think that a school uniform is just a skirt and looks perfectly stylish with pants and a blazer. From the students' point of view, they may view the uniform as a boring and unlovable set of clothes that they are forced to wear to school every day, without question, throughout their school years. Some people who oppose the transition to school uniform don't want to constantly reuse their clothes and want a full wardrobe, but who needs a full wardrobe ?
