    When times get tough with the economy and employment, minds improve. Instead of attributing a conflict to oneself or the situation, many people prefer to blame others for the problem. This is when we blame someone who is not responsible for the problem. Parrillo in his article about how there was a small industrial town in the United States where prejudice against Germans wasn't much of a problem, but when times got tough all fingers started to be pointed towards German immigrants. Everything and anything was attributed to them (Parrillo 395). This seems absurd, because the Germans had already found their place in this small town and were settling there, but as soon as adversity appeared, it was as if all that had been forgotten. This is similar to what Dudek talked about in part in his article. Dudek was explaining how many immigrants face discrimination when it comes to getting federal jobs. Some even went so far as to claim that they were more inclined toward espionage (Dudek 2).
