Since its inception, the Coast Guard has never been considered more important to the public for approximately 200 years. Why were they never warned? How come they do all the dirty work in the ocean and no one seems to care? Well, the Coast Guard is the reason America was protected, so we can go to bed at night knowing nothing will happen to us. There are many reasons why the Coast Guard is so important to society. The U.S. coast represents a significant portion of our military and pursues certain objectives over the ocean to protect us from danger.
