Essay / Argument Proposal on Why High Schools Should Have Swimming Pools
Did you know that swimming has some benefits: One hour of vigorous swimming will burn up to 650 calories, It burns more calories than swimming walking or cycling, Swimming strengthens the heart. and lungs, swimming works all the major muscles of the body. Swimming helps reduce stress, the buoyancy of water makes swimming the ideal exercise for physical therapy and rehabilitation or for anyone looking for a low impact exercise, and swimming is a great cardiovascular exercise because you move against the resistance of water, which is more than ten times that of air. Since the 1990s, at Tom C. Clark High School, a school in the Northside Independent School District, aquatic athletes have been required to train early in the morning and late at night. This inconvenience to student coaches and parents could be changed by adding an aquatic gym at Clark High School. The reasons for this proposal range from overcrowding to financial reasons, the benefits are actually endless. Overcrowding at Northside Natatorium is due to the fact that it is shared with John Marshall High School, William H. Taft High School and William J. Brenenan High School. High School, Louis D. Brandies High School and Sandra Day O'Conner High School. An advantage is that they can sometimes compete against each other, but most of the time they remain isolated with closed training sessions. A sophomore at Clark Aquatics says it would be much more convenient if the school had its own place for swimmers. here in Clark. Daily commutes to and from the Northside Independent School District natatorium cost more than they made. Just think of the gas prices on buses going to the natatorium before school in 1st period then arriving at Clark for 2nd period with the swimmers or...... middle of paper .... ..of building B dedicated to lockers the space of the room. And what more perfect moment than after redoing the parking lot and building a track around the football field. Sure, it can be inconvenient to have all the trucks and construction people, but they can raise money through the end of the year and do it over the summer, like they did there some time ago with the parking lot. So you're asking what the goal was. of that? So what? The goal is to persuade the school board to invest time and money in an aquatic gymnasium in Clark, Texas, much like the time, money and gas the coaches and school devote to athletes, as well as the time, money, gas, of students and parents, and the time, gas and money of the district's already spent money. For what? If swimming is such a good, generally economical and healthy addition to a school, then schools should have it..
