    Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria is one of the most difficult obstacles I have ever gone through; education is limited due to poor developmental training. I didn't receive the best learning experience. Nigeria is one of the most difficult countries to live in, especially in times of economic crisis. In Nigeria, when parents cannot afford their children's education, the school principal prevents them from attending classes. So imagining or comparing this with university, it would be worse because there will be no financial help from anyone, you have to fight for yourself. When I was a child, I remember the principal of my school asking me if I had paid my school fees. My answer: no. He whipped me five times on my hands and buttocks. Then sent me home. I cried all the way to my mother. She couldn't believe what had happened. If she chose to argue with the principal, she would not benefit from it because I would be kicked out of school. She had no money and even my father, who was struggling to become a bus driver, could not provide the money needed. It is my parents who make sure that I am on the right track and that I concentrate on my studies. “Heaven helps those who help themselves.” My father always uses this expression whenever he takes education seriously. If I really want to succeed in my studies, I must continue to try to help myself and dedicate myself to whatever situation I find myself in. Coming to the United States gave me a lot of hope of being like other kids. It made me want to believe in myself that dreams never die.
