Essay / Team Trial Cohesion - 725
The Storming phase usually occurred a few weeks after the start of the season. This phase was characterized by conflicts over who had control and infighting for prestige positions and the coach's attention. During this period, many athletes with poor work ethic and/or attitudes emerged; Personality and goal conflicts never really became apparent due to the team's history. The coaches identified conflicts but resolved them easily due to the nature of the team. Few athletes from this group were eliminated because they maintained the same goal several years before the season. The objectives of this phase have been oriented and implemented. Was this period the calm after the storm? It was during this period after the assault that the team came to a consensus on what was acceptable and what was not. The goals, objectives and expectations had been clearly defined by the coach and athletes. There was respect from those who made up the team and captains were appointed by the most vigilant workers, the most committed and the easiest to coach athletes. The captains set while the coaches set the standard and everything else fell into place for it.
