When examining a particular discursive community, one may encounter a number of genres that are appropriately applied to articles aimed at the discursive community. When it comes to the discourse community of scholarship, the two genres that appear most often are news articles and analysis articles. These two genres can be written with a target audience consisting of either people within the discursive community or people outside the discursive community.
