Are human rights a dream or a reality? By LongThe definition of human rights varies over the centuries. There are different interpretations for anyone, anywhere and at any time; however, many agree that human rights are fundamental rights simply because we are human beings. Human rights are the cornerstones of dignity that aim to give everyone the opportunity to demonstrate their potential and talents; in short, it is a quest for self-realization. There are many multinational organizations that protect the rights of people around the world; for example, Human Rights Worldwide, Amnesty International, International Federation for Human Rights and Human Rights Watch. Although these non-governmental organizations devote much effort to maintaining equal rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights remains to a large extent more a dream than a reality. A few examples will illustrate the fantasy of human rights. First, slavery issues still exist in the world. Many slaves were treated inferiorly or like property. This clearly not only deprives man of freedom, but also violates his dignity. Article 4 states that no one may be held in slavery or servitude. Many slaves work in developing countries in today's society. Take the example of certain minor children in Guinea-Bi: they are often victims of trafficking outside their country and forced to work in the cotton fields of southern Senegal or to beg in the capitals. Additionally, Lord's Resistance Army guerrillas in northern Uganda have kidnapped 20,000 children over the past two decades. Children were forced to become soldiers, porters and sex slaves for the army. Nevertheless, more than 1,400 displaced Somalis and Ethiopian nationals died at sea due to deceptive trafficking...... middle of newspaper...... journalist Wali Khan Babar killed in drive-by shooting by unidentified assailants in Karachi on January 13. The killing came an hour after a report was filed on a police operation against drug dealers in the city. Although there are still some success stories that show that human rights can become a reality, it remains a dream. Certain human rights can exist in certain parts of the world, it is the pursuit of an ideal world, a utopia for everyone; However, it is still too early to describe current human rights as a reality. If the government manages to relax the strict rules and more protectors mobilize and fight for a democratic society, it is believed that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will no longer be a concept, but a real, egalitarian and democratic world , may exist in a few decades. . I hope that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is largely a dream.
