    AgamemnonAgamemnon is a confusing story of people waiting for the soldiers to return from the Trojan War. Most of the play consists of choirs singing about many things that happened during the war. The play also shows the lack of respect men had for women during this time. In front of Agamemnon's palace, a guard wishes his shift to end. He is tired and wants to sleep but he has to stay awake. He is waiting for news from Queen Clytemnestra. The choir of Argive elders enters singing of war. They sing to the gods, asking them to help them win the war, as well as the great army. They are impatiently awaiting news from the queen. In the song they tell how Agamemnon killed his child. He sacrificed his daughter to Apollo so that Apollo would make the winds blow for the ships of his army. The chorus believes that this act was horrible, but that it had to be done for the good of the country. The chief asks Clytemnestra if she has had any news. He doesn't like being ruled by a woman and treats her a little rudely. He only listens to him because of his loyalty to his king. She tells the leader that the army has taken Troy. The manager is skeptical and asks him to repeat himself several times. The queen gets angry and tells her that she is not a “gullible girl”. When the chief asks how Clytemnestra...
