Macbeth was like a puppet when it came to what he did. He has been easily manipulated several times in history. Trusting too much in witches' prophecies and Lady Macbeth were just two of the situations in which she was easily manipulated. When the witches kept telling him the prophecies that he would become king, Macbeth believed them wholeheartedly. He even went so far as to say that none of their prophecies could ever come true, but they did (Macbeth V. viii. 27-34). He was easily manipulated into believing that these prophecies would never come true, which ultimately led to his death since the prophecies were true. He was also manipulated by Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth tried to convince Macbeth to follow through with the plan to kill Duncan after he retreated. It was easy for Lady Macbeth to manipulate him without really realizing it because he trusted her. Macbeth's easy manipulation ultimately led to his death. On the other hand, Hamlet was confident enough not to believe what others told him. Hamlet understood that Claudius killed his father and did not believe people when they said he died of natural causes (Hamlet). Hamlet also showed confidence by exchanging the letter saying he was to be put to death. A completely different situation could have occurred if he had not succeeded. Since then, he was able to kill Claudius. If he didn't have the confidence to change letters, he would have
