Hamlet the play and filmHamlet by William Shakespeare is the story of a king who was murdered by his brother and the prince was invited by the ghost of his father to avenge his murder. . The original screenplay has been modified several times since it was written. The original play Hamlet and the modified version of the film Hamlet are presented differently and in many different ways. Hamlet, the movie starring Mel Gibson, shows things different from the play, but there are three major differences between the two. The three major differences are in how the two productions begin, the differences in the scene the actors perform, and the differences in how the productions end. The first difference is how the play and the film begin. The play begins with guards standing guard at the castle with Hamlet's friend Horatio. The guards and Horatio await the arrival of Old Hamlet's ghost to find out why he is there. The ghost comes twice but doesn't speak. The scene ends with the guards and Horatio discussing the need to ask Hamlet to try to talk to the ghost. Hamlet, the film begins differently. It begins with King Hamlet's funeral with Gertrude standing next to the coffin. Hamlet sprinkles dust on his father's corpse. The coffin is then covered and Claudius, old Hamlet's brother, places his sword on the coffin and Gertrude cries. The second difference is how the scene plays out with the player putting the coffin in place....
