Wild Law: A manifesto for Earth Justice is a book by Cormac Cullinan which proposes to recognize the natural order of communities and ecosystems from a point of view legal view. It attempts to show an integration of different fields of study like world politics, environmental law theory, physics and how the teachings of the ancient world can create an appealing notion of the need for change in environmental understanding of 'Today. This book was instrumental in informing and inspiring the global movement to recognize the rights of “Mother Nature.” This movement advocated by Cormac Cullinan is destined to shape the 21st century as significantly as human rights movements shaped the previous century. Cullinan argues in his book, Wild Law, the imminent fact that our species is rapidly destroying our only habitable place to live, planet Earth. . It indicates that our current governance systems are extremely dysfunctional and need to be completely overhauled. Furthermore, the numerous environmental treaties, laws and policies adopted in recent years have, on the whole, failed to slow, let alone stop or reverse, the destruction of the planet. According to him, this is because the legal systems of current government systems, as well as the policies and institutions associated with them, are based on a mechanistic and dualistic understanding of the world and on various myths, of which we all now know that they are false. Myths such as the belief that human society is distinct from and ultimately superior to the natural world are now “embedded” in most legal and political systems.
