  • Essay / The importance of having patience and saving money

From the age of six, Americans start going to school. They will spend the majority of their time in this learning environment until they graduate from high school and likely college. During this time, people are informed about different topics in the hope that it will help them live a profitable life. What is a better way to solve a problem than by teaching people its causes and how not to be deceived? The current housing crisis could have been avoided if the American people had been properly informed on how to handle banking and lending situations. However, due to a mentality that people should buy what they cannot afford, America has been in a continuous recession for many years. On the other hand, banks must adjust the way loans are granted as well as the programs put in place to repay them. There is no miracle solution to this problem, but rather a long-term investment. Instead of pouring millions of dollars the government does not have into a possible solution that may or may not work, I propose that the government establish a training course to attempt to revise the way Americans think. Everyone is aware of the issues that have been raised. caused by interest rates, credit cards and quick fixes that tried to solve the problem. The problem with most of these fixes is that the money used is not money currently available. Of course, more can be printed, but that decreases the value. The fact is, throwing money at a problem won't make it go away. In fact, it only makes the problem worse. This shows the audience that it's completely okay to spend money they don't have because one day everything will be okay. This is not the case. Until a few decades ago, everyone believed in patience and thrift. Nowadays, people want everything now. Technology continued this message with everything just a click away! If people knew that saving money is the best way to get what you want, then the issue of foreclosures wouldn't be such a big problem. Instead, people go out and spend money they don't have. The public needs to be informed on how to get the best deals and get the most out of the money they have..
