How would you like to exceed 100 mph and make a living doing it? The event I'm looking for is NASCAR. NASCAR is a multi-billion dollar industry that holds 1,500 races a year in 39 states and 100 tracks. NASCAR is the 2nd most watched sport in the United States. The main racing series are the Sprint Cup Series, National Series and Camping World Truck Series. NASCAR is the largest sanctioning body for stock car racing in the United States. NASCAR's headquarters is located in Daytona Beach, Florida. The temperance movement was behind the ban. The temperance movement of the 19th century was a movement that attempted to moderate alcohol consumption and pushed for total freedom from alcohol. The movement was mainly followed by women. Well, in 1920, Prohibition was passed. Which made the sale, production, importation or transport of alcohol illegal. One of the reasons the ban was passed was because of the domestic violence that was occurring at the time. NASCAR was created in remote areas from Virginia to Georgia. So a bunch of good old boys...
