In the book "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave, one of the many protagonists, Little Bee, is faced with a dilemma: she must learn English from the Queen in order to survive in England as a refugee. She believes that if she learned English from the Queen, people would treat her with more respect and take her seriously than her fellow refugees.
