Children with less parental involvement generally do not perform as well as students who actively involve their parents. I believe because when a child is younger, if their parents show no interest in their schoolwork, they won't either because younger children like to do things to please their parents and receive their attention. If they know that getting good grades will get them the attention they want, they will try harder in school. The exosystem interests me because I have never thought about how a parent connects to the school and the neighborhood friend.
