Essay / I want to become a neurosurgeon - 1056
In this essay/report I will explain to the best of my ability my possible career path. I wanted to be many things. In first grade, I wanted to become a superhero, and that hope remained on hold for a while. Later, when I was 10 years old, my brain started to have new ideas, to explore the world around me, to think about things other than cartoons and I asked myself: how will I become a superhero? I started thinking about other jobs like firefighter, policeman, engineer, construction worker, etc., etc. But then I decided it wasn't good. Then one day, while watching an interview on television, a firefighter was being interviewed and one of the questions was: How long did it take you to decide what you wanted to be? And he said a long time. Then I wondered how long it would last, I wanted to jump in the TV and ask the guy how long it would last. Hmm, I wondered how long it had been, and then answered my question. “It’s going to be a long time, until it’s a long time, I have nothing to fear.” This question slipped my mind until the beginning of eighth grade, when I faced this question again and answered it. It took some time and some research but I answered it. I want to become a neurosurgeon when I grow up. What is surgery? Surgery comes from Greek via Latin: meaning “manual labor”. Surgery is an ancient medical procedure that uses specific techniques on a patient to investigate and treat a mild or serious condition such as illness or injury. Surgery can be used for different reasons; some might be intended to help improve bodily functions or appearance, and others might be for religious reasons. There are many types of surgeries (e.g. neuro, cardiac, plastic, oral, podiatric, etc.). Surgery began in France in the 16th century, but was used very rarely. This French surgery was also only performed for minor uses. At the time, surgery was very risky and only a few patients survived. Now you may be wondering what kind of doctors these idiots were, but think again, does surgery only need a very highly trained surgeon? The simple answer is no. The reason or should I say the biggest reason was the tools.
