  • Essay / Pets can change any person or even entire families

Imagine this, you are walking home from school or work and you are depressed because you failed a test or got a payroll deduction, as you open your door you hear paws running. at the bottom of the stairs where you see a line coming around the corner. From the moment you walk through your front door, you are bombarded with affection and happiness and just from that little lick you get from your pet, your whole day gets better. Pets can forever change a person or an entire family with everything they do every day. Animals give as they receive, so if you shower them with love every day, they will do the same for you. “Talk to someone about themselves and they will listen for hours” - Dale Carnegie. They are also very good listeners when you need to vent or just talk about anything but you don't have anyone to talk to, they will sit and listen to you even if they don't recognize you while 'They always listen. Pets not only bring joy to a home, they can also teach children important skills for later in life, such as responsibility, cleanliness and many more. This is just the beginning of the list of all the things animals do for us. Studies have shown that pets are known to heal the sick. Whether it is a cat or a dog, they just feel that warm and comfortable feeling that can cure any illness. When animals are around, most people become very relaxed and this is a key element in curing most illnesses. Pets are also known to help people suffering from anxiety or depression overcome these disorders. The animal gives the patient something to think about instead of what they are thinking about that is giving them anxiety, just give them a chance to try to help you. Plus animals always do funny things that make us laugh...... middle of paper ......this is the challenges that await you and know not to lose your cool. In the long run, you will know that you made the right decision in giving a dog, cat or other animal a new life and that they can trust that you will always be there for them no matter what happens to them. So go to your local humane society or local kennel and try to find the one animal that you think will make your life better and can make their life better. Don't treat your pets like they are trash, they don't do that to you, many pets especially dogs are much smarter than humans so they know when they are loved and when they are not and when they are not. I don't like it and it drives them crazy, which is why they act out to get your attention and hopefully remind you why you brought them into your life in the first place. To give them a second chance.
