    Destination #2Bata Shoe Museum: where are the Nikes? The Bata Shoe Museum is literally a shoe museum. I made jokes about the museum probably smelling like feet but neither Paul nor Julienne laughed. Well, Julienne did a little but only because there was another company present so I kept quiet. It's an 8-minute drive from Casa Loma. We stopped in front of a sleek, modern gray building. Paul said that as we learn more about shoes, we learn more about Canadian culture. It's amazing how he can say that with a straight face. Julienne and I entered the building and a semi-permanent exhibit. We need to pause and look around us. It is an elaborate, refined and artistic exhibition whose positioning is almost scientific. Another look at the sign indicates that it features Native American shoes from North America. This was something I never expected for something that only features shoes. Julienne pulled my hand with barely controlled 8-year-old enthusiasm, her innate love of shoes growing.
