Essay / An Analysis of My Interpersonal Relationship - 807
My Interpersonal Relationship My wife is the ideal person for my relationship analysis because we are extremely close. My wife Amanda and I have long, meaningful conversations at least once a week. We have three daughters, so our conversations can range from our relationship expectations to our parenting styles. Even though we sometimes have arguments about each other's parenting styles, in the end, we both know that by collaborating and compromising, we can overcome anything. In our relationship, it is important to have a good foundation on which we support each other. Empathy is very important to Amanda and me. We both realize that no relationship is perfect as long as we support each other we can overcome anything. Amanda and I usually have important conversations in our room after the kids go to bed. One evening, after completing an assignment on relationship expectations, my wife and I reviewed what we expect from our relationships. For example, I told her that when we have conversations, I prefer for her to look me in the eyes and make it clear that she heard and understood. I also realize that I am more careful about how I have conversations with others. This course helped me see what a great relationship I have with my wife and how I can improve it. I know the health of our marriage depends on how well we know each other's expectations, ensuring that even though she is a permissive parent and I am an authoritarian parent, we must collaborate and compromise so we can be the best possible parents for our daughters. Supporting each other is the foundation of our marriage. The interpersonal communication courses helped me open my eyes and communicate better not only with my wife and family, but also with anyone else I might contact.
