  • Essay / Analysis of Four Perspectives on Salvation in a Pluralistic World

Each author's perspective is strongly influenced by their understanding of the Bible and theology and, therefore, further highlights the need for an exceptional hermeneutic and the purity of the historical Christian tradition. . In addition to discussing the exact mechanism of salvation, the book reveals the theological basis used to characterize God. In the space of the book itself, Hick and Pinnock both present a syncretized picture of Christianity with world religion and culture. Thus, both cases seemed less attractive and further distorted Christ and the Gospel. Staying between McGrath and Geivett/Phillips, the case presented is more difficult to resolve. The Geivett/Phillips view adopts a logical and evidential condition for receiving salvation, which seems to undermine the mysterious and glorious work of the Holy Spirit in an individual's heart. Therefore, I consider McGrath's position to be reasonable and correct. In my opinion and understanding of the Bible, God's work of salvation cannot be linked to humanity.
