    My mother worked in an integrated preschool which catered for children with many different disabilities and also children without disabilities. Many of these children were diagnosed with autism, and a few were not formally diagnosed but had many symptoms that could lead to an autism diagnosis. I went there from time to time and helped my mother and other teachers when I was in high school. At that time, to my knowledge, there was no diagnosis of ASD, it was simply known as autism. As I got older, I was increasingly aware that there was a wide range of autism depending on the functionality of each individual. Some were highly functional and able to do most things on their own, while others were highly dependent on caregivers all day. I think that's when I really became more fascinated with ASD because it wasn't a cookie-cutter diagnosis; there was no set regiment for diagnosing or treating people with ASD. This article is the most in-depth research I have done on ASD and I have learned much more about this diagnosis, which could add to all the research that has been done since the last time I carried out a project on ASD. But these projects also weren't as treatment-focused or as passionate about ASD research. Instead, they focused on what autism is and who can be diagnosed with it..
