  • Essay / Bible: The Beatitudes of Jesus Sermon on a Mount

During his life on earth, Jesus gave a sermon on a mountain during which he informed listeners of a list of “beatitudes.” The beatitudes are the objective of human reality and the purpose of all our actions. Christ implies that if we live according to the beatitudes, we will experience the happiness of heaven in this life. Each beatitude asks something different of us, some being more difficult to achieve than others, however, each of them is achievable and can be demonstrated on different scales. A modernization of each beatitude could be done like this.1. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. » Being poor in spirit, despite what it may seem, does not mean lacking motivation or initiative, but rather demonstrating traits such as modesty and humility towards others. beings and towards God. This particular blessedness asks us, as humans, to demonstrate modesty toward one another and toward God through our actions, words, and thoughts. We can be humble toward others by doing simple tasks, like donating our time to benefit others who may not be as fortunate as we are. Even by doing something simple like praying for others, we put their needs before our own and are thus humble. Even through prayer we recognize our need for God and thus demonstrate again our humility.2. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. » Grief is not limited to the death of a person but can be extended to things such as a job loss or the breakdown of a relationship. This second beatitude asks us to be concerned about the pain and suffering of others, however small we may consider them. When we take the time to care for those who may have lost a loved one... middle of paper ...... is that life? We may not know what is out there, beyond this world and beyond the infinite number of galaxies and universes that live beyond our reach. However, what we do know is that the only things that are guaranteed in life are the present and the knowledge that one day, every life will reach an inevitable end. We will all choose different routes in life, with different careers and goals. We will all grow up to achieve different things and each of them will play an important role in the whole of life. It doesn't matter where we come from, what culture we choose to cultivate or what our beliefs are - at the heart of it all is that we are all human beings who have ambitions and aspirations to live life to the fullest. And we should not allow political, religious or cultural differences to cause conflicts that would only bring sorrow and destruction to our world..
