  • Essay / Management Functions - 1246

Management FunctionsDefining the four management functions are: planning, organizing, directing and controlling. Defining the functions is the easy part, explaining how each function relates to my organization is the hardest part, because the company I work for doesn't have all of these functions. This document will contain how the company implements the four functions. This is also how I would have liked my company to implement the four functions. The company I work for uses an ERP package called Syspro which is very capable of putting together a project using all four functions, but doesn't do this. I will explain why this program is not able to implement the functions and what to do about it. Planning: Planning – is the objective to be achieved and decides in advance the appropriate actions necessary to achieve these objectives. (Bateman, Snell, 2007) Planning is a never-ending plan of action. There may be sudden strategies that businesses have to deal with. Sometimes they are out of control. It can be said that these are external factors that constantly affect a business in both optimistic and pessimistic ways. Depending on conditions, a company may need to change its course of action to achieve certain goals. This type of preparation, arrangement is known as strategic planning. In strategic planning, management analyzes internal and external factors that can affect the company and therefore the objectives and goals. Here they should have a study of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. For management to do this effectively, it must be very practical and ample. The actions undertaken are not planned within the company; they simply sent the order to production and let it begin without any planning. This is why there are problems. Some problems could be foreseen if there was planning. My view on planning is that when you take the order, you put in place a team of employees who can do the work, set up the equipment and make sure that if there are any questions, they are addressed. will respond. Observe the process of multiple products and ensure that at the end of the process they meet quality standards. Check if the allotted time will be possible to complete the quantity of product produced, if not solve the problem by timing the product from start to finish and if necessary put more people on the process..
