How we go through life depends on our choices. Sometimes we don't like the choices we make, so it is our duty to correct those choices. Making the right decisions is one of the hardest things we do. Our lives will never become carefree unless you come from Wonderland and maybe the Mad Hatter. (Even though he was obviously on some kind of drug, and not the rabbit, this guy is late for everything.) However, we are capable of correcting our mistakes by making thoughtful decisions. First-year college students share similar challenges. These struggles have ways of turning into benefits. Benefits like preparing you for years to come and evaluating your personal schedule. “For many high school students, it is difficult to imagine what the long-term benefits of a college education might be. College is intimidating, work seems intimidating, and meeting new people seems overwhelming” (McGuire, 2011, para. 2). The struggle is real! Freshman year of college will definitely open every high school graduate's eyes to the huge differences between high school and college. there are more perks to college, students who move out get their own room, claiming they have to share it with another stranger, but that's what the college experience is all about. no rent, no bills to pay because they have already been paid. Food is paid for; it's like living at home with hot food when you need it, a warm room to sleep. The friends you can make will change your life.
