Essay / Child artists? Of course! - 769
Child artists? Of course ! Child artists are beneficial to society. The controversial question here is whether or not child artists should be able to perform on stage. With children competing in sports, laws should not tell them not to pursue their dreams. This debate is very important to consider because there are many different types of child performers and they all perform differently, so someone's view on child actors might not apply to children participating in sports. So now think about the last time you watched TV. Maybe you were watching the Olympics, or maybe a show featuring kids (like Modern Family, for example). Did you know that anyone under the age of 18 participating in these programs would be considered a child artist? Yes, even some competitive figure skaters would be considered child artists. First of all, a ban would not eliminate all child artists, but only reduce their numbers. Think about ALL the gun laws Chicago has in place. Before all these laws, more people could get a gun and there were more shootings. With all the new laws, criminals supposedly can't get a gun and shootings of children or adults are supposed to stop! Of course, there aren't as many shootings and criminals have to go through a very lengthy process before even attempting to obtain a gun. But criminals still have guns, are able to obtain them, and shootings still occur several times a year. A recent study by Dr. Eric Fleegler of Boston, published in JAMA Internal Medicine, indicates that there is no significant difference in the number of mass shootings that occur in states with strict shooting laws. firearms and in states that have few. or no gun laws. Comparing this to the child in the middle of a sheet of paper indicates 20 massive changes that occurred when the books in these worlds became films. Now imagine how much more change would happen if all the children in these films were banished and had to be replaced by adults. People probably won't like their fantasy world changing even more in a movie than they have because they've already reacted negatively to the changes up until this point. It is very crucial to consider my evidence: a ban would not wipe out all children. performers, only reduce their number; children identify with children! Children may be more inspired to pursue a sport or talent if they see a child their age succeeding; artists must start early as child artists to learn the craft; and child artists are needed in society. So go ahead and stand up for child artists not to be banned. Your vote counts! And remember, if they say no, say yes!
