    Although there are many professions in our growing world today, very few require as much self-determination as a sales representative. The value of a sales representative is increasing in our economy today and many companies are looking for pioneers to meet the challenges of filling this position. Being a sales representative for any company comes with great merchandise knowledge, responsibilities, skills and experience. The position of sales representative, or sales representative for short, is a very important part of a company's success. Although there are several, the main responsibility of a sales representative is to generate customer interest and make the final sale of the merchandise. A sales representative is not appointed to this position overnight. Often, a few years of experience are required before being eligible for the position. By receiving the title of sales representative, they also receive a territory for which they are responsible. The person in a sales representative position is responsible for an almost unlimited number of things in their region, as well as their own sales (Office). There is a common misconception among business outsiders. Often, the job titles of retail sales representative and sales representative are grouped together. Although the principles are generally the same, the person they sell their products to is also different. In retail sales, sales representatives or salespeople sell directly to the consumer. So, an individual sales representative, without the retail prefix in their title, sells devices to companies that sell them to individual consumers (Bureau).
