Oppression came into play when I babysat my younger siblings and used my sense of power to control them unfairly, for example: locking them up in the closet, use the dog to scare them. them, and not feed them. Looking back, I'm not proud of what I did because it demonstrated a lack of maturity but a strong sense of power. Abuse of power can lead to corruption and even lead to the overthrow of the government. It was a concept I chose to move away from because of the emotional distress it caused and showed how narrow-minded I was.
