The importance and relevance of using different research methodologies. Introduction The research process involves the logical and systematic search for useful data and information regarding a specific topic (Jha, 2008). It also includes finding the best, most cost-effective and appropriate solutions to social and scientific problems, following objective and logical analysis. Jha (2008) defines research as the search for knowledge and the discovery of truth. During this process, data can be collected from a wide range of sources including interviews, books, nature, among others. The data can then be analyzed with the appropriate data analysis tools, in order to report the results. The methodology allowed the researcher to provide a better understanding of the issue of housing and health and contributed to the development of ideas as well as hypotheses for quantitative research. The researcher used the qualitative methodology to discover the trends observed in the field of housing and health, mainly through reflections and opinions which allowed him to delve deeper into the issue (Chilisa, 2012). The main data collection techniques used by the researcher included observations and interviews. This set of techniques ensured that the data collected came directly from the source, thereby increasing its validity. The first review article used qualitative methodology. The research team used this approach with the aim of quantifying the problem of housing and health through the generation of digital data transformed into statistics. The researcher, using this methodology, attempted to quantify not only the attitudes, but also the behaviors as well as the opinions and other variables of the sampled population and generalized the results to reality. By choosing the research methodology, researchers can formulate the path forward used to conduct the study and report the results. The methodology assists in searching literature, developing research questions, and creating the most appropriate study plan.
